Excavator hydraulic system is generally composed of hydraulic pump, hydraulic cylinder (hydraulic motor), hydraulic valve and other components, among which hydraulic pump is the heart of excavator hydraulic system. In the hydraulic system of any construction machinery or industrial equipment, there must be one or more pumps. Generally, gear pumps and plunger pumps are used in the hydraulic system of excavators.
The hydraulic pump is an energy conversion device. Its function is to make the fluid move and convert mechanical energy into fluid energy (also called hydraulic energy). The working principle of the excavator hydraulic pump is dynamic.
The hydraulic pump is the power element in the hydraulic transmission system. It is driven by the prime mover (electric motor or engine), takes out the mechanical energy from the output power of the prime mover (electric motor, internal combustion engine, etc.), and converts it into the pressure energy of the fluid to provide the system with pressure fluid.
Then, in the place where work is required, the fluid pressure energy is converted into mechanical energy output by the actuator (hydraulic cylinder or hydraulic motor). Simply put, it is a component that provides pressure to the entire hydraulic system.
